Edition notes: Transcribed from "13 Motetz nouvelement_composez", printed by Attaignant in 1528, without attributions. In another source the piece is ascribed to Claudin de Sermisy. On his page you will find an updated version. Guillaume Le Heurteur used this motet as a model for his Missa Impetum, which is also available on CPDL. Note values halved, original pitch. Further notes at the end of the pdf.

Latin text Impetum inimicorum ne timueritis. Memores estote quomodo salvi facti sunt patres nostri Et nunc clamemus in cœlum et miserebitur nostri Deus noster. Memento te mirabilium eius quae fecit Pharaoni et exercitui eius in mari Rubro. Et nunc clamemus in cœlum et miserebitur nostri Deus noster.

English text Fear not the onslaught of thine enemies. Remember how our fathers were saved And now let us shout to heaven, and may our Lord God be merciful.
