Italian text Come inanti de l'alba ruggiadosa la bella luce sua n'apporta Clori e de più bei colori raccende il ciel con ogni parte ascosa, indi scoprendo il suo leggiadro viso, apre quanto de bel ha'l Paradiso. Così questa, di cui canto gli onori, esce, ed uscendo il cielo scintillar fa de' puri almi splendori, a Venere e gli Amori rinforza forza e amoroso zelo. Indi ogni oscuro velo ne sgombri intorno a l'alm'e al suo apparire giacinti, gigli e rose fa fiorire.

English translation As at the breaking of the dewy dawn Clori brings forth her beautiful light and with the most lovely colors sets alight the heavens, and every hidden part of it, then, uncovering her graceful visage, reveals all the beauty of Paradise. Thus she, of whose honors I sing comes, and coming forth makes the heavens sparkle with pure and noble splendors; to Venus and the cupids she restores strength and amorous affection. Then every dark veil is lifted from about the soul, and at her appearance hyacinths, lilies and roses bloom anew. Translation by Allen Garvin
